Gena Riley

My band name was my Moms on-air DJ name on the radio station that her and my father owned when I was growing up outside of Salina, KS. She was my very best friend, and greatest supporter in life, and in music.

We lost her to a short battle with lung cancer in 2023.

Losing her threw me into a lot of self-reflection and self-discovery, as well as just really trying to figure out what I wanted to do, or maybe felt I was MEANT to do.

I've been playing music for a very long time, and through my looking inward I realized that the answer was there all along.

I've been a songwriter for as long as I can remember, and that is truly what I feel like I am meant to do. I had taken a long break to raise my boys, who are now in high school and doing great, and very happy to see their dad pursuing music again!

I thought using her name was a great way to honor her, and I think she would be very happy to see that I am using it!
